Problem

A premium speaker is judged the moment you touch it — but KUBE's controls and feedback had no defined system. Physical interaction, LED feedback, and the app were disconnected, and everything had to work poolside, on the beach, and far from a phone.

Solution

I designed one interaction language that lived on the device and in the app — from a connection flow that goes from unboxing to playing in seconds, to multi-speaker mesh grouping, down to the smallest LED behavior. A set of buttons and lights became a cohesive, premium product.

Overview

A premium speaker is judged the moment you touch it, but KUBE's physical controls, LED feedback, and companion app shared no logic — and all of it had to work poolside, in bright sun, and far from a phone.

I designed one interaction language that lived on both the device and the app — from a seconds-long unbox-to-play setup down to the behavior of a single light.
